The New Silat PD Generation in the USA

Guru Yana teaches more than 5000 kids in New York

The final projects for his students of Silat PD consists of :

  • the rules in behavior for students in Silat PD
  • the strong foundation of Silat PD, for the development of self confidence
  • Silat PD stimulates sociability, students having to work as a team
  • the program: the old ways of tradition (law of martial arts), Hening (meditation), line-up, Pemanasan (warm up), promises (commitment) to Silat, Hormat (greeting), this will give students discipline, respect, patients, coordination and a spiritual path
  • self- defense (Bela Diri), Solospel or Bunga / Jurus (forms), Kendang Pencak (traditional Indonesian martial arts music), Serang Hindar (drill), learning how to protect oneself from attacker and learning to control emotions
  • the Silat PD technique of hand movements with the tiger (animal) system, elbow (Siku), the gripping fingertips, locking, pushing, the press point, and physical movements controlling the flow of movements and the mind

    • Silat PD can help to educate kids with the old traditional culture of martial arts in the USA, to clear the mind, build up a good attitude, for health, power, enthusiasm, self-reliance, character, excellence, and giving them a purpose in life.

    These kids need books, uniforms, space for practice, and certified instructors
